Fascinated with light and shadows, Jonathan chose the path of cinematography to tell his stories through visuals; exploring different ways to translate emotions visually.

Since joining the industry, Jonathan has been involved as various roles in numerous projects including commercials, short films and feature films. In 2011, Jonathan was selected as one of the twelve Chinese filmmakers from around the world, chosen to attend the 2011 Golden Horse Film Academy, headed by acclaimed director, Hou Hsiao-Hsien.

Other than shooting, Jonathan also dedicates his time to spreading the joy of filmmaking, conducting talks and workshops for schools and the public. He is also one of the mentors for the inaugural national film competition, cine65.

Apart from filmmaking, Jonathan is also involved in other art forms such as photography, theatre and visual arts. His installation piece, “Enlightenment” was showcased at an artist books exhibition, “Center to Periphery”, together with other Singaporean and Japanese artists.

Kun Lei loves a good film that is simple and sincere; one that communicates a powerful yet fundamental idea and touches the audiences’ hearts at the same time.

Kun Lei works by the same philosophy at Studio OIK, a production company which he co-founded with fellow filmmaker, Jonathan Goh, and continues to produce works that he hopes to share with people around him. Commercial works aside, Kun Lei also engages in non-profit campaigns and educational projects that he strongly believes in.

After heading several video campaigns and mentoring at the inaugural ciNE65 film competition, Kun Lei has recently completed his TV directorial debut for Mediacorp’s Channel 8 drama, BLUFF!.

Eileen believes that a sincere film requires time, effort and respect for all the details in filmmaking. She also believes that there are many interesting and sincere local stories waiting to be told and shared internationally.

Most of Eileen’s films emphasizes on the art direction as she feels that every story needs to have the right mood and settings in order to bring the audience into the world of the film.

Carrying these beliefs, Eileen joins Studio OIK to produce works that will relate to other people.
